Realised that July was the first month this year I got to spend with myself (a fair bit of Feb on my own but not with myself).
People talk about comfort food but rarely do I hear them talk about comfort books. For me I think a familiar (better yet, favourite) writer would be my haven, hence me reading two translations of the same book by Han Kang last week.
Reading philosophy/philosophical books (plus an obscene amount of writing and journaling) somehow always helps me out of deep depression.
Treating Complex Trauma and Dissociation (Kevin J. Connors, Lynette S. Danylchuk)—be my own therapist
The wedding people (Alison Espach) —pageturner to get back to fiction reading
Peace of mind: De Tranquillitate Animi (Lucius Annaeus Seneca)—my tattooist recommended it and it got me thinking a lot
Women and Girls on the Autism Spectrum (Sarah Hendrickx)
King Kong theory (Virginie Despentes)—feminism theory
The white book (Han Kang)—🤍
白(韓江)
On the abolition of all political parties (Simone Weil)—the Weil family just had too many great minds
